Stars and Fireflies

Several nights this week, I’ve been able to sit out in the yard and just enjoy being outside. It’s been pretty hot here during the daytime, but the evenings have been rather nice. Plus, with the hours I work, I don’t have a lot of time to really enjoy the cooler nights. So, it’s been a relaxing week.

Tig, Prince of the Driveway.
He likes to “protect” his humans from fireflies and other outdoor dangers.

My mom, sister, and I spent a couple of hours watching the lightning bugs Wednesday night, and even my dad watched them for a few minutes with us. The following night, my sister, youngest brother, and I sat in our driveway discussing the sprinkling rain we kept having and Doctor Who. (I’m slowly working my way through the show. They’re waiting for me to catch up.) Friday, once again, my mom, sister, and I sat out in our driveway watching the stars and the lightning bug synchronization. My oldest younger brother joined us. And then last night, Mom, my three siblings, and I sat out in our yard watching the sunset. It was very pretty and calming.

All in all, I’ve enjoyed having the chance to watch the fireflies and the stars throughout the week. Sometimes I forget how nice it can be to just watch the days turn in to nights.

  3. That's really nice watching the sunset...sometimes I go outside and watch the moon with my 3yrs nephew. It's such a sweet thing! Honest, sky/sunset/moon watching is underrated in it's awesome. :)
Thanks for stopping by @ Notebook Sisters!

    1. Definitely! My mom, sister, and I love skywatching. It's not uncommon for us to be out late to see a meteor shower or check out the constellations.
