.:October:.

Smurph. I think October is her favorite month.

This year, I’ve really been looking forward to autumn. Maybe it’s because most of the time, between May and September, it was super humid and hot. The latter half of September brought cooler temperatures and some early hints of color, and Fall arrived with it.

October is typically pretty busy here. Over the last couple of years, it has usually been filled with school-related tasks, but since I don’t have any of those this year, I’ve been focusing mainly on preparing for NaNoWriMo. The story idea I’ll be using has been in my head since October 2012, so I’m really excited to finally start a real first draft. (I’ll be posting more about the project soon.)

Plus, there are all sorts of pumpkin spice things around, and I’m looking forward to those again, especially the milkshakes, cappuccinos, and pumpkin bread. My mom, sister, and I usually make these items, and I’m hoping we get to do that soon. The trees in our backyard are showing hints of yellow this year. The area where I live is showing hints of red and orange all over the place, which should offer plenty of good photo opportunities if I get the chance to take my camera out for an “adventure.”

What are some of your favorite things about October and autumn?

  1. I definitely love pumpkin - the taste & smell... & yes, relief from the heat! I hope you get to go on an "adventure" with that camera of yours soon - seize the day, girl {I'm working on carpe diem, myself - it isn't always easy}. Glad to join your blog followers! =)
