Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award
I was given this award by Heather, at Sometimes I'm A Story. Thank you! :)
Interesting question.
I think...Bilbo Baggins, from The Hobbit. I've always thought the barrel escape from the books was one of the best escapes I've ever read.
2.) What is your favorite social media site?
Overall, probably Pinterest. Although I do like live-tweeting TV shows, when I get the chance.
3.) If you were a deity [YOU], what sacrifices would you demand from your pilgrims?
I've never considered that situation (or the thought of having pilgrims...). Chocolate and/or cheesecake!
4.) Which is more important to you: a satisfying ending or relatable characters?
It really depends. Sometimes I get more invested in the plot than the characters, so in that case, the ending is most important. But in general, I tend to care more about the characters than I do the plot.
5.) What is the hardest thing for you to write about?
Hmm. I'm not really sure. I guess maybe faith? I like to think that my faith is somehow reflected in my stories, even though there may not exactly be a faith-based element to them. I want it to add something to the story, without feeling like I've tried to hard to make it a part of the story. Does that make sense? I guess I find it most difficult to make it feel realisticinstead of stilted?
6.) What are the top seven ways you would repurpose a lonely sock?
Ooh, let's see...
1. Kitten sweaters. (Somewhere, I have pictures of my cat, Tig, wearing one.)
2. Sock match-making, for all the lonely socks. Think of all the lonely socks in the world looking for their solemate. (I'm sorry. That was a really bad pun.)
3. Fingerless gloves?
4. Decorative bows.
5. Decorative patches.
6. Cat toys.
7. Sock buns.
7.) Do you have a favorite archetype to read or write?
Tough choice. I do have a soft spot for the rebel characters, though.
8.) Has a book ever given you important wedding planning advice? (for example, Princess Bride, if you skip to ‘man and wife’ it doesn’t count)
I don't think so. At least, none are coming to mind. *scurries off to try to think of one*
9.) In the event that you were forced to take a ride on top of a car, how would you secure yourself?
Maybe with magnets sewn into my clothes, if I wanted to be somewhat elaborate. Or keep things fairly simple and use bungee cords.
10.) What is your favorite story no one has ever heard of?
I think it would either be some of the Dear America books, or Princess Academy by Shannon Hale. I've never really heard anyone mention reading these books (except for my mom and sister, who have read Dear America).
I'm nominating whoever would like to do this tag! Just let me know if you decide to do it, so I can read your responses. :)

My Ten Questions:1. You're hosting a picnic. You can invite any four people you like (real, fictional, living, dead). Who gets the invitations?
2. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
3. What are the three songs you've been listening to the most lately?
4. What is your favorite food?
5. What is your favorite place to which you've traveled?
6. If you could spend one hour living in a book/movie/TV show world, which one would you choose?
7. Have you ever had a pet fish?
8. The mountains or the ocean?
9. Do you journal?
10. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?

I love Pinterest too. XD Nor are you the only one to demand chocolate from your pilgrims! I also know what you mean about writing about faith. It's like, "either I can have awesome writing or I can make it about gushy religion and it will suck" just because that's how all of the Christian books I've read are. Lastly, that list of sock repurposes was beautiful. *applauds*
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I think I'll try it sometime soon... :]
ReplyDeleteBilbo is a great choice! And your list for re-purposing old socks is hilarious!! xD
I've heard of both the "Dear America" books and "Princess Academy." I have not read "Princess Academy" (but I do own it), but I have read some "Dear America" books, some of which were my favorite reads when I was younger. I especially liked the Captive Diary of Catharine Carey Logan, even though the ending was irritating. :-P
ReplyDeleteHey, girlie! Just wanted to letcha know I've tagged you over on my blog with a tag I'm pretty sure you'll love. :] Link below! Enjoy!
