Spring | March 2016

March turned out to be an incredibly busy month. But spring is here, which so far has meant a blend of cool and warm days (kind of a big deal because Tennessee weather tends to go straight into summer right after winter most years). Here’s what happened in March:

* Editing The Assassin's Daughter (again).
This round has focused mostly on strengthening the POVs, restructuring some scenes and chapters, and expanding some things. Overall, I feel pretty good about how it looks right now.

* Being unprepared for Camp NaNoWriMo next month.
I'll be starting the month a bit behind, but I think I'll still be able to meet 40K. I'll be working on the next draft of TAD2, and plan to do another post all about that soon. You can visit my camper profile here. (And if you're participating, let me know! Tell me what you're working on!)

* Found out I'm going to be an auntie!
My oldest brother and his wife are expecting their first baby, which means I'll be meeting my first nephew/niece sometime this October! I plan to spoil them and teach them the great ways of nerdiness.

* My siblings kept making me feel old.
I am the oldest of four. My sister turned sixteen and one of my brothers (the one with the baby on the way) turned twenty-one. I FEEL SO OLD.

* Watched after a kitten.
My brother and sister-in-law have been fostering a kitten (the little striped fellow named “Thor” you've been seeing on Instagram) and I've been watching over him a lot. He's being trained in the art of world domination by my four cats.

* Celebrated my blog's second blogaversary!

* Filled a journal and started a new one.

What was March like for you?

  1. Last month seemed to go by fast! Whatever the speed it was for you, though, I'm glad March had so many lovely little things for you. Congrats on learning you're going to be an aunt! And YAY for editing progress.
I know it's crazy, but I decided to do camp nanowrimo for the first time this month. Especially with my edits... I just wanted to use it to get a firm grip on a Secret Writing Project, but I won't be doing a full novel as edits for FMS will be my first writing priority.
Congrats again on your 2 years of blogging, Jameson! And I hope April is a great month for you!

    1. Didn't it, though? Especially the last two weeks.

Yay! Ooh, a secret writing project? Sounds fun! How are edits for FMS going?

    2. Yes. The project is an idea I've had for awhile, and have been wanting to do for awhile... Now I'm actually writing it, and it's so far, so good.

Edits are going alright. I admit it's easier (slightly more fun) to work on my other writing thing than them. But the story is starting to shape up, so I'm happy about that. :-D

  2. Congrats on your impending aunt-ness! And wow, that would make me feel old, too. I'm the oldest of four, too, and so I'm sure I'm going to end up meeting with this feeling as I enter my twenties, too...
